Reader Bot

Privacy Policy

Reader Bot is designed to keep speech synthesis local. The app does not collect analytics, sell your data, or send the text you enter to cloud text-to-speech services. It reads local Piper voice files from your Mac and saves exported WAV audio only to the location you choose.

What We Do Not Track

Reader Bot does not track your activity, collect usage analytics, or build advertising profiles.

On-Device Synthesis

The text you type or paste into Reader Bot is processed locally on your Mac using installed Piper voices and local speech resources. The app does not upload that text to external servers to generate speech.

Voice Files and Local Resources

Reader Bot reads Piper voice files such as .onnx and matching .onnx.json configs from local directories on your Mac, including bundled resources or your ~/piper-voices folder. These files stay on your device unless you choose to move or share them yourself.

Playback and Exports

Generated speech plays locally through your Mac. When you choose Save Audio, Reader Bot writes the exported .wav file directly to the destination you select through the standard macOS save panel.

Sharing and Analytics

Because Reader Bot does not collect your data, there is nothing to sell, rent, or share for analytics or advertising purposes.
